You may already have heard about the recent capture of a colossal squid. Many of you have expressed concern about my wellbeing, perhaps under the mistaken impression that I would be stupid enough to get myself caught by a fishing vessel (and I am of course a giant rather than colossal squid). Although I was not acquainted with the unfortunate fellow who was dredged up, it was a sad day for human-squid relations none-the-less.

I’ve decided to experiment with this blog as a way of keeping people abreast of site news and additions, and to spout forth on generally squid-related topics. It will probably replace the existing news section of the site. Please consider doing one of the following:
